Career

Gil Davies studied illustration at the Blackpool School of Art from 1960-63 and has worked as an illustrator in various industries and studios including Hawker Siddeley Aviation, Vickers Armstrong, British Leyland and British Aerospace. He has also taught perspective and illustration at the Blackpool School of Art. More recently he has sailed on several cruise ships as a watercolour art instuctor.

 

Since 1986 he has been a freelance illustrator working in oils, watercolours, airbrush, and most graphic media, subjects and styles. Clients have included British Aerospace (BAE Systems), British Nuclear Fuels, Blackburn Rovers FC, Amoy Foods, Booths Supermarket, architects, building developers and the Blackpool Historical Society.

 

One man exhibitions have been staged at The Grundy Art Gallery, Blackpool, Garstang Arts Centre and The Lytham St Annes Heritage Centre. He has also exhibitied at the Royal Watercolour Society, Bankside, London and the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour, Mall Galleries, London.
